I have had good results with a Xerox Phaser printer.

http://www.office.xerox.com/printers/enus.html

The one I have is the older 6350DN. The D says it will print both sides, great for greeting cards. The N for networked.

So it is attached to a mac, a windows box, and a linux box via ethernet.

I admit the linux network connection has been a problem for me, using cups.

But then I am a dunce at setting up linux printing.

The warantee on the Xerox printers allows free phone help to get it set up right.

They will send samples of print from the various models. The prices are reasonable.

The best part is the price per page, the wonderful solid type ink cartridges that last forever nearly.
Takes many types of paper, but I have stuck to laser quality.

Yes, the cartridges cost to replace, but they don't dry up or clog, as yet anyway.

It was purchased on sale several years ago.

No ink replacement needed yet, the originals only half full.

The colors are very good.
