[Techtalk] Silent Hardy Ubuntu

Hello,

The speakers and sound card work in Mandriva, and the OS that I
dislike (XP) but not Ubuntu. I tried modprobe emu10k1, but had no
result. I tried aplay -l, however, and the results had emu10k1 listed
for my card. I have seen on the Ubuntu boards there is an issue with
PulseAudio and Sound Blaster cards, but each fix recommended didn't
work for me. Unless I missed something entirely, which is a
possibility for me.

Thanks,

Valerie
