What you can also do (though it sucks) is to assign static IP addresses 
to any computers that don't leave the house and tell the router not to 
assign those IP addresses by configuring the range of IPs it will assign.

You can manually add a hostname by editing /etc/hosts for those boxes 
which have static IPs.

Windows look in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts.
