I'm looking for both :). But if zabbix is not a good choice I could for 
example use nagios and cacti.

I have configured nagios many times so that's not a problem. I feel reluctant 
to start using zabbix because  have no experience with it but the 
report-richness is a big plus.

That's an interesting statement, why is that not possible or more difficult 
with zabbix?
