Hello

I have a windows XP computer that I need at home to do some work
things I am unable to do in linux. I do not have a monitor for this
computer and every time I need to use it, I have to lift my 19 inch
montitor over to the other desk and plug it in. I can barley carry
this thing, its huge.

So, what id like to do is boot the Xp computer with the monitor and
then put the monitor back on the linux desktop and then be able to
see XP on my linux computer.

I am told there are a couple ways to do this, vnc and rdesktop
being the 2 best choices.

What i want:

1. security, only I can see the XP computer, not any other users
on my network. Also only one specific host on my *local* network
can view the XP computer not any host over the internet that
authenticates properly.

2. Relative ease of configuration, by this, some sort of tested
set up, a program designed just for this task would be preferred
over several tools strung together.

3. Something that uses the least amount of bandwidth as possible.

Am I asking too much?

I was told flat out "vnc sucks" use tsclient and rdesktop instead
in an irc channel, Id rather some opinions from this community
instead.

Thank you all..
