It takes a while to respond for me, but I'll assume you waited :) 
Telnet always says it's closing the connection when you close out of it 
- sounds like it was trying to make an attempt, but didn't quite get 
there.  I would try what Carla suggested, she seems to know what she's 
talking about :)
