Perhaps numbers related to how long your entire mail system takes to
work as opposed to just some parts of it?

There is a utility called postal at http://www.coker.com.au/postal/ .
There might be slowdowns for example in the way your mail delivery
system calls the mail filter, and just testing the filter won't
necessarily catch those.

I think your enquiry is really interesting. Any chance of a look at the
scripts you end up creating?
