[Techtalk] Red Hat AS 2.1 VM session -- system clock is losing time

Hi, everyone,

I have a weird problem with a VM Session.  We run
VMWare ESX 2.1.2.  We have a VM running Red Hat AS
2.1.  It is, among other things, running ntpd and
other systems (real and virtual) were syncing off this
virtual server.  All was fine until yesterday.

Since yesterday the vm system clock is losing time, as
in at least a couple of seconds per minute and the
rate seems to vary.  We have restarted ntpd many
times, changes our sources.  ntpd originally syncs
fine but the server just keeps losing time after that.
 

Has anyone else seen anything like this?  Any
suggestions?
