[Techtalk] NO Start

	HI ALL,

I have still a problem with no starting. I tried
using/formating another disk so to access the original one (hda6) at
a later time. I ran into a weird loop of sign/log in,,, each time I
entered my name/pass it would loop to choosing a desktop wizard and
back to sign in over and over.
I need to know how to get to the CL. Several times I have
been able to load the OS but get caught in the GUI loop problem. Is
there a key combination that gets one to the CL.
The next thing is,, what CL commands would get me to the
original "hda6" so I can edit it, from hdd or hdc. Is it something
like /hda6/etc/fstab/?
I hope to get hdc & hdd working this evening. I gave up on
using the "Silicon Image 680" raid IDE card so I have extra disks for
now. I now believe it is yet to be supported in Linux, maybe it is in
2.5+.
The hda (which I want to fix) is primary master the hdc & hdd
are secondary master and slave. I am going to try re-formatting d & c
in a few minutes. Some once mentioned secondary may not allow a
start-up disk? Bios is a feb2002 AMI.
The original problem seemed to be in ect/fstab, as a Ethernet
failure on hda6.

Does anyone here have an affinity for their keyboard? I do
like my "old" Mac, MacPro by Key Tronic, keyboard. It is nice to use
it again, I am going to look for a PC model. (Maybe this should be a
different topic?) Any experience with split keyboards?

	Andrew

Have you tried disabling the Ethernet in the BIOS? If Mandrake runs
Kudzu, then the changes should be detected before it tries to bring up
the interface.

Regards,
Beth
