Same here though I don't often press the button.  Mostly I use ssh to get
a shell on the server from my desktop and then run the apps from there.
ssh is very handy 'cos it takes care of all of the X authority and DISPLAY
export stuff for you.  On the HAN you can use authorized_keys to allow
passwordless connections:  1. make a keypair using ssh-keygen.  2. Copy
the .pub key into $HOME/.ssh/authorized_keys[2] (use the 2 if you made DSA
keys, leave off the 2 if you made RSA keys).  3. use "ssh server.domain"
to your heart's content...
