Thanks a lot for the pointer to Redstone and their VNC sfotware. I
wasn't aware of their app (not that I'd specifically gone looking).

By the way, to anyone reading this with no idea what VNC is, here's
the quick answer: VNC allows a client to connect to a graphical
desktop on a server. In my setup, the server is my desktop at the
office and the client is my home workstation. I connect to the office
VPN, then run the vnc viewer (client)...voila! I get a window of my
desktop at work. Especially handy when apps are available only on a
remote machine. VNC is available in client and server varieties for
all the popular OSes. Windows desktop on a Linux machine? Sure. Mac
OS X on a Windows machine? No problem. The combinations go on...
