 From what I can gather from the instructions,
you simply need to tell the client:

     vncviewer <hostname>:-5877

because -5877+5900=23, the port you want it on.

However, the server needs to be accepting
connections on that port. And unfortunately,
when I run:

     vncserver :-5877

it just gives me the usage info, as if it's an invalid
option, but:

     vncserver :23

puts it on port 5923, just as the docs say it should.
Somehow, methinks, you need to escape the negative
so that it gets passed through to vncserver, but I
don't know how to do that! :-/
