I use RH which comes with a nice little prog called KUDZU. From 5.2 up to
7.2 it has never failed to detect my hardware changes - I have swapped
NICs, sound cards, graphics cards with no problems.

Thanks anyway. I've googled and searched on the Linux Documentation
Project and in my books, but don't find what I want. It's probably
something incredibly simple, like removing the old NIC (for example),
replacing the new one, and running the hardware configuration program.
I guess I'll find out someday! There's no immediate rush - this Linux
box is just great the way it is, but I realized that there is this gap
in my knowledge and I like to fill gaps like that.

Cheers,

Malke
