     /proc/net/ip_fwchains should exist on your system if you've got
ipchains compiled into your kernel.  To check for portfw, run "ls
/proc/sys/net/ipv4" -- you should get a listing for files including
ip_forward and ip_masq_debug.  If those two aren't there, you don't
have masquerading in your kernel.
