Don't restrict yourself because you've 'heard' something. Give it a 
try.

Go for the job, if it's one you think you'd like. Have them help you
learn the thing. Give it a go!


Pick up whatever Open Content documents you can about Perl, explore. 
If you can understand even a little, grab the job. Don't expect to 
understand everything without training - just a bit. Just enough.
