We are seeking individuals capable of supporting complex applications. No
travel, but must be able to work flexible hours as needed; including night
shifts for 1 week / month.

The position is responsible for day-to-day production management of
proprietary workflow and data transformation software used to produce and
control high-volume electronic document creation, archive, delivery, and
related on-line services.

Candidate should have experience with high-volume batch data processing,
application monitoring, workflow management, and complex problem analysis.
Candidate must have demonstrated experience discovering issues based on
application logs, database analysis, and file analysis, and fix those
issues if needed.  Performs root cause analysis for support teams as
appropriate.  Provides issue details, supporting documentation and
technical resources to customer service, technical support/development
personnel, and management as needed. Must have experience with commercial
services running on Linux and UNIX (Solaris) Operating Systems.

Responsibilities:
• Monitor production processing, outputs and services to ensure that agreed
levels of service and other quality metrics are being met;
• Issue resolution and/or root cause analysis of operational issues;
• Ownership of customers in Production;
• Participation in software release management and system configuration for
application changes;
• Manage & update appropriate documentation including checklists, wikis,
overviews, etc.;
• Open defects and product improvement tickets as appropriate;
• Participate in daily issue status meeting or ad hoc issue meetings as
needed.
• Work off-hours during peak month-end run periods;
• On-call rotation for off-hour support and service assurance coverage;

Requirements:
• Experience managing and troubleshooting software applications;
• Proficiency working in remote Unix/Linux-based (shell) environments;
• 3 years of experience supporting complex applications on Unix-based
systems;
• 2 years of experience in relational database SQL to aid testing scenarios
and issue resolution;
• must be able to work flexible hours as needed included night shifts for 1
week per month
• 3 years of experience in automated testing using proprietary and custom
tools;
• Strong problem solving abilities, organizational skills and attention to
detail;
• Strong interpersonal skills in working with technical and client services
professionals;
• Strong personal accountability for applications and systems under their
operational control;
• Ability to work well with operation teams, DBAs, software delivery teams,
and infrastructure teams to deliver mission critical services;
• Solid understanding of application change management;
• Ability to work under pressure with aggressive release schedules and
priority operational issues;

Bonus Skills:
• Experience in testing, preparing and executing test plans and scripts;
• Experience in shell/Perl scripting, needed as much to aid QA testing and
issue detection;
• Source code management and promotion using CVS, Subversion or similar
management systems;
• Experience managing and troubleshooting ETL processes and XML
applications;
• Intermediate skills in a scripting language – perform command line
operations and parse data;
• Intermediate skills in SQL programming – able to write DML queries and
joins;
• Experience supporting data driven web applications;
• Experience with Workflow or Document Composition & Management
applications;
• Programming experience (C, PHP, Java, etc.) and Oracle Experience;
• Experience supporting payment processing applications;
• Data warehouse experience;
