Hardware Operations Manager - Dalles*
*This position is based in The Dalles, OR.* The area: Data Center

The Data Center team designs and operates some of the most sophisticated
electrical and HVAC systems in the world. We're diverse, upbeat, creative,
team-oriented engineers and managers working on a daily basis to develop
data centers that are changing the face of contemporary computing
facilities.
The role: Hardware Operations Manager

Google has one of the most advanced and innovative operations environments
on the planet. The Operations team manages a broad range of technical areas
including servers, data center infrastructure, networking, system
administration, and logistics. As a Hardware Operations Manager, you are a
strong leader with a strong technical background. You will be leading
multiple technical teams responsible for ambitious deployments and
unparalleled availability within Google's unique culture.
Responsibilities:

   - Oversee the day to day management of operations.
   - Work with others to design new generations of computing and network
   architecture.
   - Take responsibility for the management and implementation of multiple
   projects for your team.
   - Hire, coach and develop a team of managers and technical staff to meet
   objectives.
   - Ensure data center related priorities are consistent with objectives.

Requirements:

   - BS or BA in a technical field preferred.
   - At least 10 years experience managing managers/team leads and technical
   teams.
   - At least 4 years experience with Linux/Unix system administration.
   - At least 4 years experience working in datacenters and building out
   infrastructure.
   - Solid understanding of HVAC, Power requirements for high-availability
   datacenters.
   - Solid understanding of PC hardware architecture, maintenance, and
   repair.
   - Demonstrated strategic problem solving skills.
