<br>The previous address sounds like two domains in one :-P<br><br>I guess the sub-domain is free isn't it? Besides it's more "official" as it comes from the parent body.<br><br>The only headache of registering <a href="http://linuxchix.in">linuxchix.in</a> is not the money involved but the same old problems, in who's name will it be registered and who will control it ! <br>

</div>No. Not yet and IIRC it was decided to not go down that road. TBH,<br>
that kind of organisation would take a huge amount of effort (read,<br>
time) from the women, not to mention the organisational headaches (I<br>
blogged about some legal aspects). So until we grow that large and<br>
have found enough women to lead from the front, its better to keep<br>
things as simple as possible. Maybe others would have a different<br>
opinion on this point.<br>

</div>We do have the options of registering "<a href="http://linuxchix.in" target="_blank">linuxchix.in</a>" (its available<br>
last i checked) or any other suggestions members have. However the<br>
"<a href="http://in.linuxchix.org" target="_blank">in.linuxchix.org</a>" sub-domain seems the safest as the parent domain is<br>
controlled by women in the international organisation and there will<br>
be less (if none) chances of a single individual MIA or proxy control.<br>
It would be nicer if things could be kept open and transparent as its<br>
supposed to be in any community run project.<br>
