Hi,
Forwarding Sindhu's mail for some pointers on LUG's as I only came up
with these :

- FIX a day of the week/month and meet regularly, even if its only 2
folks who show up.
- Keep it technical, always. But not everyone is interested in a
"kernel talk" at every meet so ensure that you find ways to include
everyone who is a (potential) future Luggie.
- Use online marketing tools (blogs, email, twitter, etc..) to spread
the word. Its faster.

.... but I'm hoping for more wisdom from experienced members
(kingsly?). Anyone want to share pointers and help Sindhu !!

Hi, Vid!

I am Sindhu from Mangalore. I am currently in my final semester
completing my Bachelor of Computer Applications at St.Aloysius
College. I have been reading your blog posts on a planet feed for
quite sometime now. Am emailing you because I need a few pointers on
LUG.

At Mangalore we have a dying LUG, it's mailing list is on Y! groups.
We also have a domain but it isn't in use and it's owners are
inactive. Along with Dr.Neville, this year I plan to revive it, if not
for immediate popularity and support, we are looking to make this
consortium of users at least known to everybody.

Now, Dr.Neville is working full time and I believe so are the other
few active members of the LUG, but I have sufficient amount of time on
hand, so I intend to do something in reviving the LUG, but I have no
idea where to start from. Could you please guide me with this? Maybe a
blog post like Beginner's guide to LUG or say LUG 101 would be neat

Am hoping to discuss more about this on this email thread, looking
forward to hearing from you.
