[IndiChix] Proposal for a workshop at NIT Durgapur

Hello listmates,
I am Debayan Banerjee, a final year student of IT at National Institute of
Technology, Durgapur. We are organising an "Annual National Level Technical
Symposium on GNU/Linux and Free Software", Mukti09. The event shall take
place over a period of 3 days starting on 6th February and ending on 8th
Februray.
As a build up to Mukti09, we have decided to conduct workshops on many
fields of interest related to FOSS. As a group trying to spread FOSS
awareness in the locality, it has been my personal experience that girls
have a phobia towards working on Linux. It is also made worse by the fact
that they do ot have access to proper hands-on help in their hostels. We
would love to have one or two of your female members dispel that fear from
their hearts here, and also educate boys and girls alike about a topic of
your choice.
As for dates, the entire month of January and February 1st week is
available. Also Durgapur is near Kolkata, so we would like it if the
visiting member were from in and around Kolkata, since we have limited
travel sponsorship to give away. But that is not a binding constraint.
Kindly respond with possible workshop/talk topics.
