I think it is a good tutorial. I certainly learned from it.
It is great when a tutorial can stand on its own without the
user needing to read a manpage, ie. a brief summary of what
the manpage says that is relevant to what is being discussed,
hopefully somewhat less terse, and more informative than a
manpage. I feel that a tutorial should do a certain amount of
hand holding, including pertinent background information.
Otherwise, it is necessary to place the tutorial in the proper
place in the overall scheme of the whole course so that the
reader has been introduced to the concepts necessary for
comprehension of the subject matter. In this case, and since
we are studying files, this tutorial is well received. 8^D
