Feb. 1st]

Hey Chix!

Sorry for the 2 weeks of hibernation, the flu going around really got
the best of me. All better now, and ready to finish the last lap of
creating our mag!

What we need now are - Writers, writers, writers!!

Below are the regular columns we have decided on for our magazine. If a
column is 'Floating', that means that the articles are shared by
different writers, not just one. If a column is 'Sticky', that means
that one person will be heading that column.

SO, here's what to do if you're interested in contributing to a regular
column.

Step 1: If you'd like to contribute to a 'floating' column, just email
the list with which one(s) you'd like to contribute to. You can sign up
for more than one floating column.

Step 2: If you'd like to head one of the 'static' columns, email the
list with which one you'd like to head. One static column per person,
just to be fair.

Step 3: If there is more than one person who'd like to contribute to a
particular 'static' column, then we'll cross that bridge when we come to
it. We can either turn that column into a 'floating' column, put it up
for a vote, toss a coin, etc.

Alrighty, volunteer away! [closes next Friday, Feb. 1st]

1. (Static) "Linux advice column"

2. (Static) "Women-tech events"

3. (Static) "Toot your horn"

4. (Static) "I wish I had this feature"

5. (Floating) "New linux-based/open source gadgets to watch out for"

6. (Floating) "What if?" (Short Fiction that explores the themes and
spirit of
linuxchix, any genre: SF, historical fiction, memoirs, etc.)

7. (Floating) "Fix it yourself - short how to on Linux utilities"

NOTE: all writers are always welcome to submit their writing for
non-regular columns (i.e. topics outside of this list). For now,
though, we're just getting our regular columns organized. The regular
columns will be published whenever-ready online. Additional non-regular
columns, features, stories, etc. will be published quarterly along with
the most recent (or popular) regular columns.

Thanks,

Rs
