Can someone let me know if there is a way to do this that doesn't
involve giving everyone concerned root access?

I will be away and out of email contact Jul 29 to Aug 5. I don't have
any problem with this being done while I'm away (in fact, I'd probably
prefer it, since it will allow us to get moving), but you will need to
coordinate directly with Dancer about getting access to the server.
